GB rowers win the GB v France match in Nottingham

Great Britain hosted the 39th France v GB J16 match on Thursday 11 July in Nottingham. More than 100 young athletes made the trip to Holm Pierrepont for their first opportunity to represent their respective countries. GB has beaten France in seven of the previous eight encounters and this year triumphed once more.

There has been little publicity for the event with the teams only being announced by British Rowing the previous day. The Scottish STV website is reporting on the win by the Aberdeen crew in the JM4- otherwise there has been scant reporting which must be somewhat depressing for the parents and crews alike.

The results were as follows:-

JW8+ victory GB
JM1x victory France
JW2x victory GB
JM4x victory GB
JW4+ victory France
JM4- victory GB
JW1x victory France
JM2x victory GB
JW4x victory GB
JM4+ victory GB
JW4- victory GB
JM2- victory GB
JW2- victory France
JM8 + victory GB
