Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Sea Forest Waterway rowing venue update

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government said yesterday that the Sea Forest Waterway, Olympic rowing venue for Tokyo 2020 is now 77% complete.  According to a report on the Asahi Japanese news website the next step for the Sea Forest Waterway is construction of the section of the venue that will block waves from Tokyo Bay from interfering with the rowing course.

The Sea Forest Waterway will be hosting the World Rowing Junior Championships as a test event in August. Tokyo’s Olympic Village, located adjacent to Tokyo Bay, stands at 73% complete.
